Different Types Of Deserts
Great Basin Desert

The Great Basin desert is located at N36* latitude and W115* longitude or number 1 on this map. It stretches all the way from Mexico to Northern Nevada. The Great Basin desert has very hot summer days and, in the North, very cold winters. The North has these cold winters because of the high elevations and its northern latitude. The southern part of this desert, or the Arizona and Las Vegas area, is the Sonoran desert. This desert is part of the Great Basin desert but is the hottest U.S. desert. It has scorching summer days and warm winter ones. The Northern Great Basin is a famous travelling spot for skiing in the winter, and Lake Tahoe in the summers. The South is a great spot for amazing waterparks and a warm winter stay.
Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert is the largest desert in the world. It has a latitude of approximatly N25* and its longitude is about E11* or number 5 on the map above.. It has extremly hot temperatures, in the winter temps. can drop to 0*C at night and sometimes there are scary sandstorms. The best times to travel here are in October, Noember, March, and April. Activities include Tribal attractions, and tours across this fantasy looking desert.
Atacama Desert

This desert has a S27* Latitude and a W70* Longitude. Its number 3 on the map in the country of Chile. In the center of Atacama there is a place climatologists call "absolute desert". Ever since climatologists have studied this area no rainfall has ever been recorded. Although its very dry in this center, the rest of the area is a little chilly! Attractions here include the beautiful cities of Chile right on the ocean, or tours into the desert space.
